Is 2012 A Hoax?
Imagine for a moment that it’s December 20, 2012. People all over the world have fled to mountains and hid underground so that they can survive. On TV, you can see people praying as well as panicking. The clock is ticking and finally the doomsday date has arrived. The question that is on peoples mind is what will happen on December 21, 2012 if anything at all? Is 2012 just a hoax or is the doomsday an inevitable reality?
You probably read or heard about some of the doomsday theories for 2012. The Mayan Calendar ending on December 21, 2012 was what got peoples attention towards all the events and predictions for what is going to happen this year. Some of these are scientific facts while others are prophecies. The most well known events that will happen are the galactic alignment, high increase in solar flares, and the magnetic pole shift. The most noteworthy prophecies are the predictions made for 2012 by the Mayans, I-Ching and Nostradamus.
There are plenty of other 2012 signs as well, many of which have great scientific backing. There have been plenty of doomsday dates in the past, but what makes this date interesting is that none of the older doomsday dates have had the kind of proof which December 21, 2012 has.
The year 2000 and the y2k problem is often brought up in 2012 discussions. The y2k problem was about the fear of computers not being able to handle numbers above 1999, and has absolutely nothing to do with the end of the world. You probably know this already but I thought I should clear it up.

Did Nostradamus predict the floods?
I seem to remember as a child reading a book on Nostradamus’ predictions, one of which was that Southern England would have catastrophic flooding around the year 2000. I have also heard that his predictions are 6 or 7 years out as the calendar they were based on had fewer days.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think he predicted anything.
