Why doesn’t the history channel focus on history anymore?
I have watched the history channel for well over a decade now and it seems been growing worse every year. They have been steadily replacing their history documentaries with other series like the
“the universe”
a variety of alien conspiracy theories,
Armageddon doom and gloom shows,
ridiculous physic (bible code, Nostradamus) shows
modern marvels
Mega Movers
Ice Road Truckers, another crappy reality show
This goes on and on and on… I can understand/watch these shows in moderation however the history channel only has a shred of actual history left on it. I feel that one of the history channels own shows “save our history” should do an episode on its own channel. I understand that these other shows grab the rating but if this channel is going to sell out this badly can they at least change their name.
Good Question!!
If you are lucky enough to have sat. TV …the International History Channel has some quite good articles on history and archaeology, but as a rule you can’t find much in the way of intelligent programs associated with ancient history, history, or archaeology on TV…it’s geared for IQs of about 12…(I know quite a few 12 yr. olds that are more intelligent and lots of adults who aren’t!)
My adivse…look up some ‘groups’ on your PC.
I post many articles on history and archaeology on my group site.

History Channel – 2012 Nostradamus 1/9
We who populate this planet have been on a continual quest to understand the future by studying the past. There have been significant events in Earths history that seem to point to a definite and well-defined outcome in the future…..well-defined maybe to those who can “see” future Predictions. For the rest of us who lack End Of The World Prophecy vision, there are numerous sources of information to help us understand (and hopefully avoid the dangers of) End Of The World Predictions of worldwide catastrophe. I have a product review here:2012 End Of The World Predictions
